Separators: Drum, Roller Press and Rundown screens

Text Box: Here is an overview of the types of separator we supply:

Rollerscreen Sperrin Separator unit 1000
This is a stainless steel screen with rubber coated compression rollers where slurry is separated and pressed to a good dry matter . Various screen sizes are available for cattle pig and industrial.

Applications:
Thicker slurries
Slurry with foreign bodies or bedding
Normal cow slurries
Abattoir wastes
Mushroom compost
Vegetable wastes

Advantages:
Large throughput to 70 cubic metres per hour
Low power consumption: 1.5 kW
Suitable for all slurry types
Reliable and corrosion free
Long lasting
Quality industrial engineering
Features
Stainless steel construction
Built in safety devices
Stone trap
Automatic washdown on completion
Proven design since 1975

SP2000 Separation drum screen
This is a stainless steel tubular drum with a cleaning brush where slurry is tumbled and the liquid falls away from the separator. Used as a pre-strainer for slurry with a high water content i.e. vegetable washings or flushed cow slurry. Various screen sizes are available for cattle pig and industrial applications.

Applications:
Thin slurries
Slurry with foreign bodies or bedding
Flushed cow slurries
Abattoir waste effluent stream
Mushroom compost
Vegetable wastes

Advantages:
Large throughput to 170 cubic metres per hour
Low power consumption: 1.5 kW
Suitable for liquid free draining slurries ( can be used with the SP600 to enhance dry matter
Reliable and corrosion free
Simple and long lasting
Quality industrial engineering
Features
Stainless steel construction
Automatic washdown on completion
Brush cleans screen whilst in use

SP600 press screen
This is a stainless steel drum with a compression roller to compress slurries and pre-separated discharges such as from the SP2000. Used as a separator for smaller flows i.e. Medium sized farms and digested slurry. Various screen sizes are available for cattle, pig and industrial applications.

Applications:
Thicker slurries
Slurry with foreign bodies or bedding
Abattoir waste paunch contents
Mushroom compost
Vegetable wastes

Advantages:
Throughput to 40 cubic metres per hour
Low power consumption: 1.5 kW
Can be used with the SP600 to act as an after separator to enhance dry matter
Reliable and corrosion free
Simple and long lasting
Quality industrial engineering

Features
Stainless steel construction
Automatic washdown on completion
Compact size

The cone clarifier
This is a carbon steel cone with a centre stilling well designed to thicken and separate sludges from liquids by gravity settlement. This is normally used as part of an effluent treatment plant with or without polymers.

Applications:
Thin slurries or sludges, soil from wash plants activated sludge settlement

Advantages:
Throughput to 40 cubic metres per hour
Low power consumption: 1.5 kW
Can be used with the SP600 to act as an after separator to enhance dry matter
Reliable and corrosion free
Simple and long lasting
Quality industrial engineering

Features:
Stainless steel construction
Automatic washdown on completion
Sizes 3 – 10 m diameter with options of further larger units to specific design

Rundown screen separators
Used for separating products from water by gravity water is pumped over a screen unit employing wedge shaped bars to make liquid run through the screen whilst solids slither down the face of the unit can be used for many industrial applications as coal dust in water plastic granule separation sawdust in water. Solids are not dry and some cleaning is essential in dry conditions.

Applications:
Thin slurries
Products like coal dust in water, plastic granule separation, sawdust in water
Abattoir waste effluent stream
Mushroom compost
Vegetable wastes

Advantages:
Large throughput to 400 cubic metres per hour
Low power consumption: no motor on separator
Suitable for liquid free draining slurries (can be used with the SP600 to enhance dry matter
Reliable and corrosion free
Simple and long lasting
Quality industrial engineering

Features
Stainless steel construction
Automatic washdown on completion
Available in sizes to 3 m wide

Benefits of separating slurry:
Drains, pipes and pumps do not get blocked
Stores require minimal agitation – large cost savings
Simple minimal power consumption
Fully automated slurry handling is now possible

Supporting capability:
A full range of access platforms gantries and legs and ladders from 2m to 8 m high
Pipes pumps and control panels to suit all voltages

Text Box: CE Projects provide more separation options than any other supplier.

Separation is an excellent way of turning problem slurry generated into profitable fertiliser. The key advantages of separation are:

Liquids
The separated liquid is more easily absorbed by the soil surface than conventional slurry, which makes better use of available nutrients
Separated liquid provides a faster response than non-separated slurry, as N is not locked up breaking down fibre
Separated liquid can be easily analysed and is more consistent throughout the store as nutrients can move about
Separated liquid can be applied to grazing areas during the grazing season as the
risk of taint is greatly reduced
Can also be applied to growing crops such as wheat, barley etc. over an extended
period without causing mildew or laid crop
Separated liquid can be spread without prior mixing
Potential reduction in slurry storage capacity up to approx 25%
Separated liquid smells far less than non separated slurry as it does not have rotting fibre in it
Can be easily pumped over long distances by small pumps as no solids to choke pipes
Suitable for use as flush liquid to clean the cow houses

Solids
Separated solids can be spread during the proposed winter closed period
Solids contain weed seed and will sterilise themselves with heat generated by composting
Solids easily spread after composting and lower volume to spread
Solids can be easily moved to outlying areas / nearby fruit or arable ground
Can be composted for resale
